Anthony Japour,
Director and Chief Curator.

With over twenty years in the academic, business, neighborhood and art communities, Dr. Japour entered the art business in 2002 following an epiphany he experienced at the beginning of a sabbatical year; namely, that artists were helping to heal the United States of America following the tragic events of 911. Since that time, the AJ Japour Gallery has mounted numerous private and public exhibitions of contemporary art in venues throughout Miami Beach and the surrounding area.

In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations of the internet gallery business, Dr. Japour is the President of Anthony Japour & Associates, Medical and Scientific Consulting, Inc.; the Company is focused on strategic planning, public health policy, education and research of emerging infectious diseases. Dr. Japour is a licensed physician in the State of Florida, a Volunteer Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and a Without Compensation Consultant in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Miami, FL. In September 2002, and in the subsequent years since that time, Dr. Japour was recommended to President George W. Bush as a candidate for Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration. In June 2003, he was one of PEOPLE Magazine's 25 Hottest Bachelor's along with Ashton Kutcher, Prince William and Keanu Reeves among others.

"For me, the AJ Japour Gallery has given me the extraordinary opportunity to meet interesting people from around the world, while allowing me to bring something novel to the contemporary fine art scene in Miami. While medicine is not generally a direct pathway to art, physicians are trained to use all of their senses to observe the world around them; in fact, many physicians are passionate collectors of fine art. The Gallery has experimented with a variety of different exhibitions and formats over the last several years and has settled comfortably in representing work primarily on the secondary market. In particular, the Gallery will focus on Chinese Contemporary Fine Art".

Mary Japour,

Ms. Japour brings a wealth of experience in sales, marketing and operations in the internet and business spheres. Based in the Washington, D.C area, she was recently appointed to the position of President of Expovision, Inc, a comprehensive housing management company serving the convention and meetings industry. In 1999 she helped co-found the Cendex Corporation, an internet-based company operating in the packaging manufacturing industry, and served as its Chief Operating Officer until 2006. Prior to that, Ms. Japour was Executive Vice-President of Value Behavioral Health, directing operational divisions with 500 employees, representing $45MM in revenue. In addition to the Gallery’s Advisory Board, she currently serves on the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts’ Circles Board. "Working with the Gallery allows me to combine my interests in art, business and philanthropic concerns. I hope to further expand the AJ Japour Gallery to the Washington, D.C. community."
